Opera for young hearts.

OperaEd exists to inspire and educate a new generation of opera-lovers who do not currently have access to the art form, bringing fun, immersive workshops and performances to schools across London.

Breaking stereotypes.

With Opera being stereotypically known as expensive, long and inaccessible, OperaEd was created to break that barrier and educate UK schools on the importance of opera. They do this by introducing all the elements of the art form through their workshops and performances. To design with this goal in mind, a range of bright colours that harmoniously work together was my way of bringing the identity to life. This broke all my internal rules as a designer but felt completely necessary for this project and attracts their ideal audience with ease.

Every school visit needs a story.

As part of OperaEd’s policy, they work termly or annually with schools to offer stability in academic planning for all schools. Their debut and current show is Hansel and Gretel, where they use Engelbert Humperdinck’s ever-popular take on the classic Grimm’s fairytale and present their signature blend of narration, spoken dialogue and incredible music. For this they needed an on-brand icon to represent the show and make room for future shows and a template to show off the cast and creatives for each project.

“OperaEd is a new organisation and I wanted branding that was colourful, bright and contemporary. Kirsty was very patient, giving me the time needed to play around with colours, layout and ideas. She was always happy to engage proactively with feedback and return edits efficiently. It's always a joy to work with Kirsty!”
